Marissa Sackler worked behind the scenes wit non-profit organizations and saw how they worked. After witnessing how the many non-profits were “held together with string and glue” due to lack of resources, she decided to do something to help by providing work space to “incubees.” Currently, Beespace incubates five organizations, including The Malala Fund. Three main factors Beespace looks at are the founder, who provides the vision for the non-profit; the market, with a focus on under-represented and under-funded sectors; and the “x-factor,” which distinguishes the non-profit from from others.
